Sweep privacy policy
Last updated October 25, 2026 · Sweep
The short version
Sweep has no server. It never sends your data to its developer or to anyone else. Everything it reads stays in your browser.
What Sweep reads
- Through the official X API, with your own X developer app: your public profile, the public profiles of your followers and of the accounts you follow (name, handle, avatar, bio, checkmark, follower and post counts, and the ID of their latest post).
- On x.com, only on your Followers and Following pages and on profiles of those accounts: the handles shown on the page, so Sweep can label them. It never reads posts, messages or anything else, and it never clicks or types on x.com.
What Sweep stores, and where
In your browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.local), on your computer only:
- your developer app's Client ID, and the Client Secret or Bearer Token if you paste one;
- the sign-in token X gives Sweep;
- the follower and following lists from your last scan, your keep rules, and your marks (kept, removed, unfollowed).
Who it talks to
Only x.com (to sign in) and api.x.com (to read the lists above). There are no analytics, no tracking, no ads and no third-party services. Profile pictures load from X's image servers, as they do on x.com.
Sharing and selling
Sweep does not sell, share or transfer any data. Its developer never receives it.
Deleting your data
In Sweep, Disconnect X revokes the sign-in token, and Delete all Sweep data erases everything it stored. Removing the extension from Chrome erases it as well. You can also revoke Sweep's access on X under Settings → Security and account access → Apps and sessions.
Costs
Reading from the X API is billed by X to your own developer account. Sweep shows the estimate before every scan.
